Inaugural selections for top high school players in Wilson show quality of soccer in the area

The Wilson Youth Soccer Association has announced selections for the inaugural WYSA All-County Team. The club made the decision to highlight the top players in our area and allowed a committee of soccer enthusiasts, administrators, and sports writers to contribute to the team selection. WYSA would like to express its appreciation to the Wilson Times and Sports Editor, Paul Durham, for their contributions. To read the Times' article on the selections, please see the link below:

Nearly all of the selections are current or former WYSA players, though that was not a requirement in being selected. Jackson Stone of Greenfield School was proclaimed as 'Mr. Soccer' for the 2018 season and highlights a cast of players who have received numerous accolades throughout the season, including Myles Cyrus of Fike who was the area's lone All-State selection.

The club hopes to continue this practice on an annual basis, highlighting the top male players in the fall and female standouts in the spring.

The All-County team is yet another example of soccer being live and well in Wilson. Congratulations are extended to each of these players on an exceptional season.
