WYSA is excited to announce a new partnership and pilot program with our neighbor club PGSA!

The PGSA and WYSA Academy will be joining to create a unified team to compete in a regionally located tournament.  Seven boys and girls from the U10 age groups from each respective Academy will be selected by each club to come together as a select team.  These two teams plan to compete in the 2019 Beach Soccer Classic, (Nov. 15-17)!  What a wonderful opportunity to give our athletes a chance to compete at a high level with new soccer friends!

Why partner together?

Working together to provide our young athletes the chance to compete with other high level athletes in the region will help provide the growth opportunities our local communities need.

How will the players for the program be selected?

Each club will first check for availability and interest within their respective soccer club.  From the group of interested young athletes, respective coaching staffs will select 7 to 10 players.  Seven athletes will be selected for the event, with three athletes being selected as alternates (and given the opportunity to train with the group)

How much will this cost?

This program is meant to create as little financial burden to the athletes as possible.  Expected costs for the event consist of tournament fees (split among the team), cost of training tops (which will serve as game tops), and other traditional tournament expenses.

Who will coach the teams?

Both teams will be coach by the Director of Coaching of WYSA and PGSA.  With WYSA’s DOC training the girls and PGSA training the boys.  Training sessions will be held at both club sites in the weeks leading up to the event.
